汕头市潮南区两英镇金瓯乡，保生大帝建醮盛典是金瓯乡的传统民俗活动，俗称“打照”，每三年举办一次，每十二年更加隆重。“保生大帝”是金瓯乡历代崇拜的神明，俗称“老爷”，一句“老爷保号”便是乡民们最为虔诚的祈祷，意思为祈求得到神明的保佑。“建醮”即是设法坛做法事，老爷登上醮坛为乡民祈福，保佑全乡风调雨顺。
