René Maltête在中文世界似乎没有什么人认识他，就算是西方的有关资料也不多。他本身是一位无政府、非暴力和平主义者。和当时法国摄影界主流拍摄社会运动和社会抗争行为的风格有极大出入。他的作品都是充满快乐的感觉，也不为当年社会所欢迎，只有图片社Rafo收留他以及他的作品。在2000年，他以70岁之龄去世。
